Ilana Glazer takes on a totally new role in a Hulu fertilty thriller about IVF
Abbi, we're not in Broad City anymore
Is that you, Ilana Glazer? The Comedy Central darling is practically unrecognizable without her signature curls, wonky antics, and best friend Abbi Jacobson by her side. But we're ready to see what she has in store for us next.
Our favorite funny girl is embarking on a completely new direction in Hulu's False Positive. The forthcoming film, which is slated to premiere on June 25, is similar to Broad City in that it is located in New York, but the premise couldn't be more different. Rather than follow two best friends as they galavant all over Gotham, False Positive focuses on a couple, Lucy and Adrian (Justin Theroux), who struggle to get pregnant. The duo seems to have struck gold when they stumble upon Dr. Hindle (Pierce Brosnan), but things get very dark very quickly.

The film is set to focus on the couple's IVF journey, an important issue that is often overlooked or considered taboo. It's definitely a far cry from the millennial antics we're used to seeing in Broad City. However, her partnership with director John Lee— who has worked on Broad City episodes in the past—promises satisfying results.
Not only are we witnessing a new milestone in the comedian's career with this Hulu original, but we're seeing a different side of the witty, quirky entertainer. Now, Ilana is preparing for motherhood.
In mid-March, the New York native took to Instagram to show a post of her growing belly and captioned the image with a baby emoji and Jewish stars (a signature topic in her comedy bits). Naturally, the internet couldn't contain its excitement in the comments section. (Even BFF Abbi showed her love and support for the mom-to-be.)
