Accio happy hour: A Harry Potter butterbeer bar is on its way to NYC

Cheers to that

Fantastic news for wizards and muggles alike: A Harry Potter Butterbeer bar is set to debut in New York City on June 3, and we’re incredibly anxious for a round of merrymaking with like-minded witchcraft enthusiasts.

Despite what the name suggests, the concoction is simply an amplified version of cream soda and butterscotch (though naturally, mixologists have been known to put an alcoholic twist on the treat). At the city's sole Butterbeer bar, customers are able to indulge in draft Butterbeer, Butterbeer ice cream, and bottled Butterbeer. Additionally, there will be a MACUSA label that's exclusive to New York.

If this is what the food at Hogwarts is like, add it to the list of reasons we'd like to enroll. (In fact, we're ready to board the train at Platform 9 3/4 as we speak!)

Upon entering one of NYC's most highly-anticipated spots, guests will see a giant cascade of glowing Butterbeer bottles and witness a little "magic" in action. Nearly 1,000 bottles will rise from the floor and float over the bar as the treat moves across the ceiling via copper pipes. (Very on brand!)

Your soon-to-be favorite spot is actually part of the larger experience, Harry Potter New York—21,000 square feet and three floors of magical, mystical goodness. The store, which also opens on June 3, will feature 15 themed areas and the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts products ever.

"With over 1,000 Wizarding World props on display (including some authentic items which featured in the movies), the incredible theming, along with experiences such as photo opportunities and the fantastic range of products, there will be something special for every fan," Sarah Roots, EVP Warner Bros. Worldwide Tours, and Retail said in a statement.

We're ready to fill up our shopping carts and snag a refreshing beverage while there—our broomsticks are ready for departure.
