Polished, preppy, but party-ready, I was stopped three times on my morning commute in this Boden jumper
From AM to PM, this is the cosy knit that can be dressy too
Boden kicked off the season with a bang, and before I knew it, the Boden autumn first drop had launched, and I was the owner of several new kilt skirts. Tapping into the autumn/winter fashion trends for 2026, the brand has leaned heavily into heritage styling, but offered a refreshing twist in the way that only Boden can.
This gorgeous argyle knit in classic tones of camel, navy and red had me stopped multiple times when I nipped into town this week. Teamed with the wool pleated skirt from the same collection, I felt fully ready for the start of Celebrity Traitors; however, very on-trend too.
Known for great knitwear and a great use of colour and print, I am a sucker for a bit of embellishment, and the smart casual result of this glammed-up, country-coded design is unsurprisingly turning heads. Perfect for pairing with denim, as well as skirts, the neutral palette makes it easy to style, while the argyle design adds a timelessness.
A comfortable crew-neck, this design was supremely easy and comfortable to wear. The classic colouring made it simple to pair up with existing styles in my wardrobe, although it's worth noting that the flash of red ensures it taps into the autumn/winter fashion colour trends for 2026 too.
Crafted from a mix of polyamide, RWS certified wool, cotton and a hint of RAS certified alpaca, you get decent breathability, and I would know, as I wore it in 21-degrees (I was both desperately in need of wearing autumn clothing and the morning had been cold), but I didn't feel overly warm in my cheery piece.
In a classic, round, crew-neck style, the cuffs and hem are ribbed, creating an excellent fit. The neck comes up fairly high, meaning you won't feel the need to layer a tee underneath, unless it is the depths of winter.
Super soft to wear, the beautiful embellishment work sits very flat on the sweater and feels extremely secure. Tapping into this season's love of brooches, the asymmetric design adds plenty of interest and ensures it has an almost British, quirky finish, as opposed to a more symmetrical design.
Available in sizes XS to XL, although the XL is currently sold out; however, as someone who wears a 20 in Boden dresses and would usually buy a 16 to 18 top, I fit very comfortably into the size L.
The hemline falls between the waist and the hip, which offers a wealth of styling opportunities, from wearing it relaxed and falling over your middle to trying out a half tuck for a bit more intentionality.

Boden notch neck dress
Boden has a host of excellent sweaters this season, and the brand has really upped its embellishment too, and as a long-time shopper of the brand, I think the prices for its beaded knitwear have come down substantially too.
There are a series of sweaters and cardigans with pictorial beadwork at around the £150 mark, and as we head into the festive season, a special piece of knitwear will be your easy go-to for AM-to-PM dressing.
Dress down for your day-to-day with jeans and trainers, but feel seasonally ready for a little cheer; when paired with an elegant leather or suede skirt, or some smartly tailored trousers and heels, you'll be party-ready in an instant - and still cosy and comfortable.

The best cashmere jumpers are a winter wardrobe must-have, for a well-balanced microclimate that keeps you warm without overheating. This brushed cotton design, in two of this season's hero combos - green and pink, grounded by navy will make every outfit feel warmer, brighter and more stylish.
This knitted jacket is the answer to elegant and comfortable upper arm coverage in the winter. If you don't want bare arms in the cooler months, but also don't want to let pretty sleeveless dresses and camisoles pass you by, then this figure-flattering silhouette and beautiful beadwork if the piece to invest in.
A cotton sweater without the fuss. This breathable design is ideal for easing you into autumn weather. The bold pops of colour mean this jumper will instantly update your jeans, while teaming well with seasonal cords too. Thanks to the natural, cotton fabric, this design comes in under £100 too.
Wear with
I have this skirt, both in this colourway and the brown/navy mix, and also, have my eye on the red iteration. The wool skirt is beautifully weighty; the well-covered wrap-over front does not leave you exposed in a gust of wind, and it's lined too. It's the sort of piece I will have forever, and it matches the embellished argyle sweater perfectly.
It's a classic in the autumn/winter, but corduroy is back in quite a big way this season. The lovely tactile fabric adds depth and richness to every look and feels both polished and relaxed. This pair of trousers is beautifully cut, currently on offer and available in multiple hues. It's the perfect jeans alternative for smarter moments.
Suede and leather are two of my favourite autumn/winter buys that are wearable into early spring. A classic, A-line suede midi skirt will never go out of fashion, particularly in this gorgeously rich, neutral tan hue. Pair with trending chocolate, bold pops of red, or keep it muted with black, and of course, try it with a fun argyle knit to lean into cooler climes.
As autumn finally gets underway, I for one am desperate to wear all the gorgeous pieces I've been stockpiling since I thought the heatwave was ending - it is going to end soon, right? And this jumper is already a firm favourite.
Wearing it this morning, paired with a wool skirt and boots, even without my best trench coat on top, the crisp morning air felt so inviting, and I know I'm going to get lots of wear out of this sweater. Stopped several times on my way to my meeting; it's always a good sign if everyone wants to know where your outfit is from.
And of course, despite the jewelled clavicle details, this knit has a timeless argyle pattern in classic autumnal hues, so I know that my investment won't be limited to this season alone.
