Why Prince Harry's ‘peak rage’ before Queen visit could delay memoir release
The Duke of Sussex could change details of his memoir, which is due to be released in late 2022, after meeting the Queen in person
Prince Harry's visit to the Queen before the Invictus Games in April could have caused his memoir to be delayed, a royal insider has claimed.
- Prince Harry may have delayed the release date of his memoir after meeting with the Queen at Windsor Castle in April, a royal insider has revealed.
- The Duke of Sussex reportedly completed the book in January when he was at 'peak rage' with the Royal Family.
- In other royal news, Kate Middleton and Prince William dubbed ‘generous’ by fans for being so ‘inclusive’ with their children at major events.
Prince Harry's meeting with the Queen at Windsor Castle last spring may have delayed his memoir's release date, a royal insider has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Her Majesty at her Berkshire residence in April before attending the Invictus Games 2022 in the Netherlands, marking their first trip to the UK together since their withdrawal from the Royal Family and emigration to the US in January 2020.
The A-list couple returned to Europe again in June for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee – a reunion that saw them finally introduce their one-year-old daughter, Lilibet Diana, to her British relatives.
It's now been speculated that these transatlantic trips, and the emotional conversations they likely fostered, could cause the release of Prince Harry's memoir to be postponed.
The 37-year-old confirmed in July 2021 that he is writing his first book, in the hope of documenting the "experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him" over the course of the past four decades. The highly-anticipated memoir, which was developed with the help of celebrity ghostwriter J.R. Moehringer, was initially scheduled to hit shelves in autumn 2022.
However, with the summer months creeping to an end and still no updates on the book's release, some royal experts are wondering if Harry has had a change of heart about its content.

"The book was completed, we believe in, about January – at least Harry’s part in it – the interviews," Richard Kay, Editor at Large, Daily Mail told The Royal Beat. "That was really when Harry was still at peak rage, with Britain, with the Royal Family, with his sibling [Prince William] and family.
"Since then, there has been a measure of a rapprochement. We saw it at the Jubilee, there was a bit of an attempt by Harry to sort of wind it down a bit. Will he want to readjust what he’s written? All these things must be going through his mind.”
This sentiment that Prince Harry has simmered since the completion of his memoir was shared by Duncan Larcombe, former Royal Editor at The Sun.
“When he saw the Queen on his way to the Invictus Games earlier this year, I think Harry seems to have just slightly spiked his guns. The Queen has slightly calmed the situation down," he said during the program.
