She married Prince Harry in 2018, but where did Meghan Markle get her wedding dress from?

The couple tied the knot at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in a fairytale ceremony on 19th May 2018.

But it was Meghan's stunning dress that stole the show on their idyllic wedding day.

So who designed the beautiful gown and how much did it cost?

Where did Meghan Markle get her wedding dress from?

Meghan Markle's pure white dress was made from silk and featured a classic boat neckline.

The dress was designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller, the first female artistic director of French fashion house Givenchy.

Meghan chose to work closely with Clare on the design because of her "timeless and elegant aesthetic, impeccable tailoring, and relaxed demeanour", Kensington Palace said.

Clare said of working with the Duchess of Sussex, "I think she loved the fact that I was a British designer, and working in a house such as Givenchy which has its roots in a very classical, beautiful style."

Meghan's dress was complete with a five metre-long white silk veil, which included floral detail representing all 53 countries of the Commonwealth.

Clare spent a lot of time researching the flora of each country and ensured that every flower was unique.

Meghan also chose her two other favourite flowers - Wintersweet found in Kensington Palace and the California poppy, from where she was born - to be adorned on the veil.

For the evening reception, Meghan wore a Stella McCartney halter neck style dress.

How much did Meghan Markle's wedding dress cost?

Meghan Markle's dress is estimated to have cost a staggering £387,000, but it's not surprising it cost so much - the veil alone took 3,900 hours to embroider!

And the dress itself was made from double-bonded silk cady, cushioned by an underskirt in triple silk organza.

Meanwhile, Meghan's Stella McCartney's evening gown was estimated to have cost £119,000

However, a few months after the wedding, in November 2018, the gown formed part of Stella McCartney's first bridal collection and came in at the more reasonable price of £3500.

What tiara did Meghan Markle wear on her wedding day?

Meghan wore Queen Mary's diamond bandeau tiara, loaned to her by the Queen for her special day.

The tiara is named after the wife of King George V, the Queen's grandfather.

The centre of the tiara features a detachable brooch of 10 brilliant diamonds, which was given to Queen Mary as a wedding present in 1893.

The brooch was then made into the tiara in 1932.

To complete the look, the Duchess also wore earrings and a bracelet made by Cartier.
