Prince Harry’s failure to address the Queen’s public declaration that Camilla will become Queen Consort when Prince Charles ascends the throne could show his “true feelings” about the matter, according to a royal expert.
The Duke of Sussex is one of few royals not to publicly congratulate Camilla on the news she’ll become Queen Consort when Prince Charles becomes King.
In a drastic change of heart, the Queen announced in her Platinum Jubilee speech that her wish is for Prince Charles’ second wife, Camilla, to become Queen Consort, despite courtiers previously saying she would be Princess Consort out of respect for the late Princess Diana.
And now, with Harry yet to publicly comment on the news, royal author and expert, Duncan Larcombe, has opened up about how the Duke’s silence speaks volumes.
Writing in his Woman column, Duncan explains, “If his silence on the subject is a sign that Harry may not be quite as enthusiastic as William about Camilla being queen, then what better way of letting his true feelings show.”

Duncan goes on to say, “Senior royals, including Charles and William, have publicly welcomed the Queen’s support for Camilla. Harry, meanwhile, has so far stayed silent on the subject, despite taking part in a number of social media posts since the announcement was made.”
Royal watchers will remember that Prince Charles’ relationship with Camilla raised eyebrows in the early days following his split Princess Diana and even the royal family weren't keen on Camilla before she became Duchess of Cornwall.
Which could make the news a bitter pill to swallow for Prince Harry.
Duncan explains, “Harry has often raised concerns that his mother’s memory may be airbrushed from history and he knows that, if life had been different, Diana would have been Queen Consort herself one day.”
Meanwhile, royal insiders say the Duke of Cambridge is “supportive” of his grandmother’s decision and Prince William will accept Camilla as Queen.
“None of this can have been easy for him,” a source told the Daily Mail.
"There were huge family rows in the early stages of Charles and Camilla's marriage as everyone found their feet. William didn't have the best relationship with his father back then.
"But he sees that Camilla had made his father happy and it is something he has come to terms with.”
