The Queen will ‘wait in line’ for the covid-19 vaccine

Her Majesty the Queen will not receive preferential treatment when it comes to the covid-19 vaccine, sources say.

• The 94-year-old Monarch, and her husband Prince Philip, will wait until the vaccine is rolled out to the over 80’s
• The Queen having the vaccine could boost morale among citizens to have it
• It follows royal news that the Queen is mourning the loss of her beloved dog 

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are set to be “waiting in line” for the recently announced covid-19 vaccine, until it is being offered to those who are over 80.

While Buckingham Palace rarely comment on the royal family’s medical history, royal experts Chris Ship and Lizzie Robinson have discussed how making it public when Her Majesty has had the vaccine could boost the country’s trust in it.

Speaking on ITV’s Royal Rota, Chris Ship said, “One wonders what will happen to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh."

“We don't know but they're in the age group where they would be in the second tier of people who get the vaccine.”

"But many people are saying in order for people to have a vaccine it might be very helpful if it were to be known the Queen herself had taken one to let everybody know it's safe, for example."

Lizzie said it will be down to the Monarch whether that information is made public.

“It's under consideration at the palace whether to make that kind of thing public but really it's down to the Queen to decide whether she wants to share that very personal information.

“Normally we don't get to hear about private medical things to do with the Royal Family but you never know."

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace added, “Medical decisions are personal and this is not something we will comment on.”

With the Queen’s age putting her in the “vulnerable” category when it comes to the deadly virus, the palace recently announced the Queen would be changing her Christmas plans upon advice from all the relevant experts.

“Having considered all the appropriate advice, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have decided that this year they will spend Christmas quietly in Windsor,” a spokesperson confirmed.
