The Queen’s wedding look was almost ruined due to this fashion emergency
Oh dear!

72 years ago, Queen Elizabeth II married Prince Philip at Westminster Abbey. But her regal wedding look was also ruined due to a broken tiara.
- The Queen's wedding looked picture-perfect, but a broken tiara almost ruined her iconic look.
- The diamond fringe tiara worn by the then Princess Elizabeth broke as it was being placed on her head.
- This follows royal news that The Duchess of Cambridge is ‘more willing to experiment’ with fashion according to expert.
According to the Palace, the Queen’s diamond fringe tiara, which had been lent to her, broke as it was being placed on her head. A gem inside this tiara had broken off, and it had to be taken away to be repaired.

Luckily for Her Majesty, the tiara was able to be repaired quickly, and she wore it to walk down the aisle without anyone knowing what had happened. We bet the Queen was relieved about that!
The Queen and Prince Philip married four months after their engagement was publicly announced, and they celebrated a huge 72nd wedding anniversary milestone.
Despite the wonderful occasion, it seemed the Queen and Prince Philip couldn’t celebrate their anniversary together.
It was revealed that Prince Philip was resting at Sandringham, whilst the Queen remained in London.
Many people were quick to send well wishes to the royal couple, including other members of the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex paid a sweet tribute on their official Instagram, Sussex Royal.
It seems that wedding faux pas can happen to the best of us, but thankfully for the Queen she was able to fix hers without anyone noticing.
Her iconic wedding look has gone down in history, with her ivory silk dress one of the main attractions. Decorated with crystals and pearls, it certainly was a dress fit for a Queen!
The dress, designed by Sir Norman Hartnell, went on display to the public at Buckingham Palace in 2016.
