Why Sophie Wessex and family are the most likely royals to spend Christmas with the Queen

Sophie Wessex

Sophie Wessex, her husband Prince Edward and their two children are the most likely royal family members to join the Queen and Prince Philip for Christmas this year for one reason.

Why is Sophie Wessex most likely to get an invite to Sandringham?

Sophie Wessex - wife of the Queen's youngest son Prince Edward - is said to be a favourite of the Queen.

The Wessex family were the first family members to visit the Queen and Prince Philip at Balmoral this summer.

And given the fact that they are a family of four, they will be able to join the Queen and Prince Philip for Christmas without breaching the rule of six.

Another royal tradition that won't be able to happen this year is the annual church service.

The royals usually attend the service at St Mary Magdalene in King's Mead, Sandringham.

Crowds of royal fans also gather to watch the royals arrive and leave the festive service.

This comes after Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has spoken out to mark World Osteoporosis Day.

Duchess Camilla has been president of theRoyal Osteoporosis Society (ROS)for nearly two decades, since 2001.

She said: “We know it is vital to eat the right food, to take regular and weight-bearing exercise and, so importantly, to educate young people as to how to look after their bone health.”

“It has, of course, been more challenging to get out and about this year, but we must all ensure, for the sake of our bones, that we stay as active as possible, even in the midst of a pandemic.”
