The Queen’s 2020 Christmas Day speech will reportedly be available globally on any Amazon Echo device that’s set to English for the first time. Since 1952 the 94-year-old monarch has given an annual address to the nation on Christmas Day. Spreading words of reflection and hope, the Queen’s Christmas Day speech looks back on the events of the past year and looks forward to what is to come in the next.

This year it’s believed that the Queen’s 2020 Christmas Day speech will provide the words of comfort and guidance we all need at this difficult time. With the new Tier 4 announcement for London and many South Eastern counties, Christmas will no doubt be a challenging time for many. 

Now yet another Christmas change might just bring us some much needed joy as the Queen’s 2020 Christmas Day speech is set to be available via Amazon’s virtual assistant, Alexa. 

How can you listen to the Queen’s 2020 Christmas Day speech?

Royal fans can enjoy the Queen’s 2020 Christmas Day speech  via the BBC, YouTube and the royal family’s official social media accounts. 

But now they can also listen to what the longest reigning British monarch has to say via Amazon’s Alexa virtual assistant.

Across the world, Amazon Echo owners who have their device set to English can tune into the Christmas Day speech simply by saying the words: "Alexa, play the Queen's Christmas Day message," according to The Guardian.

Why will the Queen’s 2020 Christmas Day speech be available to listen to via Alexa?

As reported by Insider.com, Eric King, director of Amazon Alexa Euripe has said in a statement that: “After a challenging year, millions of people from across the Commonwealth will be eagerly awaiting Her Majesty the Queen’s message on Christmas Day.

He added that: "By creating this world-first innovation, just as we did in 2012 with the release of the Queen's Christmas speech on Kindle, we hope that even more people will be able to enjoy the uplifting words of Her Majesty."

The Queen gave her first televised Christmas Day speech back in 1957, after giving her first end-of-year speech in 1952. Since then settling down to hear to the monarch’s thoughts on the year has become a Christmas staple for many families.

We look forward to hearing the Queen’s words of comfort and reflection on 2020 on Christmas Day.
