The Queen has been praised for showing ‘family solidarity’ after a lovely gesture towards Duchess Meghan Markle.

Queen Elizabeth II has been praised by royal fans by showing ‘family solidarity’ after she reached out to Duchess Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex is celebrating her birthday today over in her new Los Angeles home with husband Prince Harry and the couple’s one-year-old son Archie Harrison.

And despite rumours of a family rift after the royal split earlier this year, members of the Royal Family have shown support towards Duchess Meghan as a number of senior royal publicly reached out to wish her a happy birthday.

Earlier this morning, the Royal Family Instagram account, which represents the Queen, shared a lovely photo of the monarch attending an event in the company of her grandson’s wife Meghan.

🎂🎈Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday!’ the caption read alongside the photo.

And royal fans praised the monarch for the move, with one commenting ‘Happy Birthday!!!! A lovely message of best wishes and family solidarity’ and others adding, ‘What a nice gesture, we hope you will support them more publicly☺️’, ‘Hope Meghan has a very lovely birthday with her family🌺and‘Beautiful. Love this!❤️❤️❤️’.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also reached out to wish Duchess Meghan a happy birthday, with each post raking up thousands of likes in just a few hours.
