Princess Eugenie's velvet headband is selling out fast

We love a statement hair accessory.

Princess Eugenie's velvet headband was a regal addition for her first public appearance with husband Jack Brooksbank since giving birth to their first child. The couple were snapped in three portraits by Eugenie's midwife and shared to Instagram as they introduced their son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank to the world.

"Thank you for so many wonderful messages," reads the photo gallery caption. "Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can't express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you."

Ultra-chic statement headbands have certainly made a comeback of late. Amanda Gorman's fashion-forward canary yellow Prada band sent the internet into meltdown on Inauguration Day. It's also a practical accessory in a pandemic as a band hides grown-out roots and tames strands that haven't seen the sharp end of a pair of hairdresser's scissors in months.

More from woman&home:

Now on sale for $135, reduced from $225, it's hardly surprising that Eugenie's golden velvet padded 'Thada' headband by Jennifer Behr is selling out fast. Proof perhaps that given our Zoom fatigue, a designer hair accessory is precisely what we're looking for to zhoosh up our next call.
