Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have reached out in support of an important UK cause.
The community organisation, which has been long-supported by the Sussexes, was set up by survivors of the tragedy closely following the fire to provide hot meals and refuge for families in need.
And now the Duchess has sent an audio message over to volunteers at the kitchen three years after the tragic fire.
“I think back to when I met all of you (opens in new tab) and how you had all come together in the wake of what you experienced in your community,” said Duchess Meghan in the audio message, according to Evening Standard.
“And now what you have done is such an inspiration, you continue to give back, you continue to put love in action,” she continued. “And that’s really what Hubb is all about... we know it means love but you are the example of love in action, and that is your purpose.
“I’m so proud of you, so is Harry, and we are sending so much love to you from across the pond and thinking of you today, as I’m sure it’s a difficult day,” added the Duchess, “but also one where you can look at how much you’ve accomplished in the past three years, and how you continue to give back and be an example for all of those around you."
The Duchess of Sussex has previously spent time at the volunteer kitchen (opens in new tab), sharing photos of the Sussex Royal Instagram page earlier this year when she visited them in January.
‘Earlier this week, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to visit the women of The Hubb Community Kitchen and “Together, Our Community Cookbook”,’ read the caption, alongside the stream of photos the Sussexes shared.
‘These women came together in the wake of the Grenfell tragedy to cook meals for their families and neighbours who had been displaced from the fire. With funds from the successful cookbook, they have now been able to share their spirit of community with so many more.
‘The Hubb continues to work with local organisations to build hope, bring comfort and provide not simply a warm meal, but with it, a sense of togetherness.
‘The Duke and Duchess were so happy to reconnect with the women and hear about the projects they continue to develop to help those in their community and beyond.’
