Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrate exciting baby news

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are celebrating some good news as Prince Harry's childhood friend, Tom Inskip, welcomes his first child.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could have a new playmate for son Archie as one of Harry's closest pals, Tom Inskip, has become a father for the first time.

Tom Inskip and wife Lara welcomed a baby boy into the world and have since called him Albert.

Like Meghan and Harry, the pair live in America and therefore could be on-hand for playdates whenever the Duke and Duchess of Sussex travel to Washington or anywhere on the east coast.

Having attended the couple's wedding in 2017 - when Meghan was just Harry's girlfriend - this foursome go way back. So it's no surprise Harry is in the running to be called for godfather duties.

It wouldn't be the first time for Harry as he is already godfather to at least "five or six" children.

Opening up about the responsibility, Harry said, "Yeah, I’m a godfather to quite a few of my friends’ [kids]... actually only five or six."

Prince Harry and Meghan recently relocated to California - just months after stepping down from royal duties to pursue a more private life.

While their decision came as a shock to many, the father-of-one said there "really was no other option" following months of scrutiny.

Citing their reasons for making the shocking decision to step back at the beginning of the year, Harry said, “But I hope that helps you understand what it had come to, that I would step my family back from all I have ever known, to take a step forward into what I hope can be a more peaceful life.

“I was born into this life, and it is a great honour to serve my country and the Queen.”
