The Duke of Sussex has a lot on his plate. While he is away in England for Prince Philip's funeral, the soon-to-be father of two is concerned about his wife, Meghan, and her pregnancy.
• Prince Harry has arrived for a one-week stay in England for his grandfather's funeral. Meghan was advised not to fly at this stage of her pregnancy.
• This is the first time Prince Harry will be seen in public with his family since March 2020.
Prince Harry is mourning the loss of his beloved grandfather, who he referred to as the “master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right ‘til the end” in a sentimental tribute. Although he has stepped away from his royal duties – causing friction among the royal family – Prince Harry did not hesitate to return to the UK for Prince Philip’s service.
Meghan, however, was advised by her doctor not to travel at this stage in her pregnancy, which left Prince Harry quite concerned. A source revealed to US Weekly that he is in touch with her and Archie frequently via FaceTime. Allegedly, the Duke of Sussex checks in several times a day, as Meghan is in the later stages of her pregnancy. The two are expecting their second child, a baby girl, this summer.
Although tensions are high, perhaps coming together is exactly what the royal family needs to heal and move on. Despite these differences between Prince Harry and his family, it’s clear he still has much love and respect for his grandfather.
“So, on that note, Grandpa, thank you for your service, your dedication to Granny, and for always being yourself,” he said in a statement. “You will be sorely missed but always remembered – by the nation and the world. Meghan, Archie, and I (as well as your future great-granddaughter) will always hold a special place for you in our hearts.”
