Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s pregnancy announcement photograph has gone viral, with royal fans desperate to know all the details behind the heartwarming shot.

In the black-and-white photo, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be seen relaxing in the woods, with Meghan cradling her pregnant belly while she gazes into her husband’s eyes. The image was captured by the couple’s friend, Misan Harriman, whose work has been featured in several A-list publications.

The British Nigerian photographer, who became the first black photographer to shoot a cover for British Vogue, explained the photograph's concept in a recent interview with the fashion magazine.

"With the tree of life behind them and the garden representing fertility, life, and moving forward, they didn't need any direction because they are, and always have been, waltzing through life together as absolute soulmates," he said.

With his sharp creative insight and impressive portfolio, you might be surprised to learn that the pro photographer didn’t use any fancy cameras to capture the moment. Harriman took the gorgeous picture on an iPad, shooting the couple at their residence in Santa Barbara remotely from his home in London.

He also revealed that the reason the photo appears so candid is because it is - Meghan and Harry were actually chatting when the image was snapped.

"When you see people who have the connection that they have, it's like reading the pages of a book," Harriman added.

Harriman was first introduced to the Duchess at a charity event years ago, and the two have remained close friends ever since. In fact, if it wasn’t for him, Meghan and Harry may have never met.

"Meg reminded me that had I not introduced her to a mutual friend, then she wouldn't have met Harry. I'm grateful for whatever small part I played," shared Harriman.
