Buckingham Palace has issued an official statement on Prince Charles' health following his COVID-19 diagnosis.

  • The Prince of Wales tested positive for the virus last week, and confirmed he was self-isolating from wife Camilla, in Scotland.
  • Now Palace officials have issued an official statement on the Prince's health, just a few days after his diagnosis.
  • This follows royal news (opens in new tab) that the Queen is missing this tradition while in self-isolation (opens in new tab).

Prince Charles' positive COVID-19 diagnosis was confirmed last week, in a statement which revealed he was only suffering from mild symptoms.

Now it seems the royal is fully recovered, and he's out of self-isolation.

An official statement released shared by royal reporter Chris Ship on Twitter read, “Clarence House has confirmed today that, having consulted with his doctor, The Prince of Wales is now out of self-isolation.”

Despite no longer self-isolating following the recommended seven days, he continues to socially distance.

The Duchess of Cornwall, who tested negative for the virus, is said to remain in self-isolation until the end of the week. She will continue to hold meetings and will be able to take exercise according to medical and government guidelines.

The pair are currently in Scotland, at the Balmoral Estate, while the Queen and Prince Philip are at Windsor Castle.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to be in Norfolk, at their countryside home Anmer Hall, so the royal family is spread all over the United Kingdom.

News of Prince Charles' diagnosis was confirmed last week (opens in new tab), when the Palace issued a statement saying, 'In accordance with government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland. The tests were carried out by the NHS in Aberdeenshire where they met the criteria required for testing.

'It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.'
