Will Meghan Markle travel to UK to support Prince Harry at Princess Diana statue unveiling?
Rumours have been flying about whether Meghan Markle will be coming to the UK next month to support Prince Harry at an event commemorating Princess Diana
A royal insider has suggested that Meghan Markle might soon be flying to the UK to support Prince Harry at the unveiling of a statue of his late mother, Princess Diana.
• A royal source has claimed that Meghan Markle will be coming to the UK in July.
• But other sources claim that Meghan, who recently gave birth to her second child, will not be attending this event.
• In other royal news, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall ‘wasn't very keen’ on Kate Middleton at first and saw a ‘gap’ between her and Prince William
Prince Harry and Prince William will reunite to unveil a statue of Princess Diana this summer, as they mark what would have been their mother’s 60th birthday. A royal insider confirmed that the Duchess of Sussex will be joining her husband on this trip in order to support him, as Prince Harry has allegedly been given the 'cold shoulder' by his family since the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip.
The royal insider told the Daily Mail, “Meghan knows how hard it was to attend his grandfather’s funeral alone and doesn’t want that to happen again.”
Meghan was unable to attend the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral earlier this year as she was pregnant with her second child and unable to safely make the long trip.
The royal insider stated, “Harry was given the cold shoulder by most of his relatives, with several refusing to talk to him or even make eye contact. Since the funeral things have got worse, not better, so you can only imagine how he will be treated at the big event on July 1.”
However, other sources have now claimed that this is not correct and Meghan will in fact be staying in the US with her two young children, Archie and Lilibet.

ITV 's Royal Producer, Lizzie Robinson, tweeted, "Meghan will not fly to the UK to join Harry for the unveiling of a statue of his late mother Princess Diana on July 1st, a source confirmed after a US website claimed she would be attending."
Another source close to Harry and Meghan also told the Daily Mirror, "Meghan is not going to travel. She has just had a baby and Harry will travel alone."
It has also been rumoured that on this trip to the UK, Prince Harry will meet for a private lunch with his grandmother the Queen. Daily Mail reported that a royal courtier told Richard Eden, “It’s a typically magnanimous gesture by Her Majesty. The lunch will be a chance for them to talk things through.”
It is thought that Prince Harry will discuss his new series The Me You Can’t See Me where he spoke about mental illness and challenged negative stereotypes about mental illness with Oprah.
It is also thought that Prince Harry and the Queen will discuss the shocking comments about Archie that made Oprah gasp in horror during the Harry and Meghan interview. During this interview, Prince Harry and Meghan revealed that questions about their son's skin colour had been raised in a negative way by members of the royal family.
The palace responded to these allegations at the time by stating, “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
