Duchess Meghan Markle appeared in a new video where she was seen wearing a new necklace that had an important meaning behind it.

The Duchess of Sussex appeared in a new video yesterday evening, as she mentored a young woman who was preparing for an interview over a video call.

Charity Smart Works, which provides free work clothes and job interview training for those in need, shared the video of patron Duchess Meghan on their social media pages.

The clip saw the royal mentoring one of the charity’s clients using their new virtual service, which the organisation introduced six weeks ago due to the coronavirus lockdown.

In the video, the Duchess was seen looking sleek and professional, with her hair clipped back and wearing a smart v-neck jumper that she previously wowed in for an engagement supporting young leaders of the One Young World organisation.

But while the Duchess re-wore the autumnal top, one new addition that she featured in the video was her gold necklace.

And the necklace, by ethical London jewellery designer Edge of Ember, has a rather important behind it.

The brand’s beautiful Vision necklace features a classic evil eye design, which in superstition is said to protect against negative vibes sent from others.

The pretty gold-plated trinket, which is currently available to pre-order for a late May delivery, features both blue and white topaz stones and comes in two different chain lengths.

Speaking about Smart Works’ mission, Duchess Meghan said, “It’s been such an honour to meet and learn from so many talented women in the Smart Works network over the years, and recently to see the amazing work they’re doing to adapt their programs to the reality of this pandemic,’ they captioned the video with a message from the Duchess of Sussex.

“Their ability to continue to empower women and help them harness the confidence they need to succeed during this time is inspiring”.
