Lady Louise Windsor's royal style has evolved over the years and it could be seen to mirror another senior member of The Firm on more than one occasion.

Although Lady Louise Windsor isn’t a Princess, as one of the Queen’s grandchildren, she’s certainly grown up in the royal spotlight. The 18-year-old daughter of the Earl and Countess of Wessex has regularly waved to fans from the Buckingham Palace balcony at Trooping the Color and showcased her carriage driving skills at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Despite this, the teenager often remains more private compared to the working members of the extended Royal Family

But it seems that over the years, she could’ve been taking a little fashion inspiration from one in particular as her personal style evolved. Starting from a very early age, it seems that there have often been a few similarities between Lady Louise Windsor’s royal style and that of her cousin-in-law Kate Middleton.

This is perhaps most clearly seen during their appearance at Trooping the Color 2013. At the time the Duchess of Cambridge was pregnant with Prince George and opted for a comfortable, yet elegant, pastel pink coat. Just like many of Kate Middleton’s dresses, it was designed by Alexander McQueen and included pretty pearly buttons.

Further along the balcony, Lady Louise Windsor could be seen wearing a very similar look. Just like Kate, Lady Louise opted for a coat in a spring-like pink shade. Both coats had large, stylised lapels to bring an added detail to the looks. Whilst Kate and Louise wore their hair pulled back away from their face, but still loose down their backs.

Although the coordination between the looks was most likely unintentional, they’re reminiscent of each other in color palette and design. And in a sweet twist, it’s not the only time that Lady Louise Windsor's royal style has seemed similar to the Duchess of Cambridge's outfits throughout the years…

When else has Lady Louise Windsor's royal style mirrored Kate Middleton?

Last year for the Royal Windsor Horse Show held near Windsor Castle, Lady Louise opted for a smart, double-breasted navy blazer which featured small gold buttons. Simple and classic, the elegance of this look came shining through. And the choice of outerwear is something Kate likely would’ve approved of!

The Duchess of Cambridge wore one herself for a visit to Amisfield winery in New Zealand. She and Prince William put their wine to the test during their 2014 tour of Australia and New Zealand and she was pictured wearing a very similar blazer which is said to have been from high-street retailer Zara.

Both Lady Louise Windsor and Kate’s blazers included the beautiful gold button details on the cuffs and front and were the perfect shade of navy blue.

Meanwhile, Lady Louise Windsor’s royal style also mirrored Duchess Kate’s early last year following the loss of Prince Philip. Stepping out with her parents Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex for a Sunday Service at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor during the royal mourning period, Lady Louise wore a respectful all-black outfit as is expected for royals during this time.

Her black coat did have one statement detail, however—large gold buttons. The two buttons added another layer of interest to the outfit at this hugely difficult time and were positioned just below a large collar, as well as at the hemline.

And this time it could be seen that Lady Louise style inspiration saw her decide upon this Kate Middleton-esque outfit even before her cousin-in-law wore her similar option.

Just days later the Duchess of Cambridge wore a similar black coat with large gold buttons as she and Prince William visited 282 East Ham Squadron in East London. Unlike Lady Louise’s coat, Kate’s had four sets of military-style buttons down the front. Though the two outfits still looked remarkably similar and stylish despite their immense grief.

Whilst the coordination between Lady Louise Windsor's royal style and that of Kate Middleton might never have been intentional, it's lovely to see their outfits evolve and reflect each other's over the years.
