Lady Louise Windsor is reportedly set to pay tribute to her late grandfather, Prince Philip, with an important royal appearance just months after he passed away.

Lady Louise Windsor is supposedly set to make a significant royal appearance next month—and it’s one that will honor the memory of her late grandfather, Prince Philip.

The Queen and Prince Philip were happily married for 73 years before he passed away at Windsor Castle aged 99 in April. Once described by Her Majesty as her “strength and stay”, the Royal Family continues to mourn his loss and it’s said that the Royal Family will “step up” to support the Queen at future engagements.

Meanwhile, her son Prince Edward recently reflected on Prince Philip’s “larger than life” character as he marked what would have been his late father’s milestone 100th birthday on June 10. On this poignant day, the Queen also showed her “vulnerable” side with a touching tribute to Prince Philip.

Now it's been claimed that Prince Edward and Sophie's eldest child, Lady Louise Windsor, is planning on making an important appearance next month and it will showcase her and Prince Philip’s special bond.

As reported by Daily Mail Diary Editor, Richard Eden, keen carriage driver Lady Louise Windsor is set to compete at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, cheered on by her parents, Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex. Richard explained that “Prince Philip will be there in spirit” as his granddaughter takes part.

If Lady Louise does indeed go on to attend the prestigious event next month, it will not be the first time she has shown her carriage driving skills to the world. The young royal previously competed at the 2019 show when she was just 15, with Prince Philip said to be amongst those proudly watching. After a wonderful performance, Lady Louise came third in the Private Driving Singles carriage drive and her passion and talent for the sport is something she shared with the Duke of Edinburgh. When the Queen's great-granddaughter is not engaged in sports, she's busy with her studies. Lady Louise Windsor's school is a major part of the teenager's life now that she is in her final year of secondary education. As a boarding pupil, the 17-year-old spends much of her time away from her family home in Surrey.

According to Richard Eden, a family friend has claimed that she is “naturally very shy”. However, they alleged that Lady Louise “wants to do something to make everybody proud, including the Queen, who will be watching” the show.

Prince Philip reportedly left two of his carriage driving ponies, Balmoral Nevis and Notlaw Storm, as well as his beloved dark green carriage to his granddaughter when he died. These will be familiar to royal fans, as they were recently observed on the day of his moving funeral service in April.

In a very touching moment some might not have noticed, Prince Philip’s riding hat, whip and gloves were placed on top of the carriage where he once sat, along with a little box of sugar cubes. Lady Louise Windsor was amongst the 30 guests who paid their respects to the Duke of Edinburgh at his funeral and the sight of his old carriage in the Quadrangle at Windsor Castle was likely incredibly moving for her and the wider Royal Family.

Now Lady Louise Windsor is reportedly set to compete at carriage driving at the Royal Windsor Horse Show for the first time since he passed away. Though this would no doubt be a very poignant occasion for her given his loss, it would also be a wonderful way to pay tribute to Prince Philip and the hobby he also loved so much.
