Most outfits worn by the Duchess of Cambridge make headlines and often there are secret meanings behind her wardrobe choices.

From her blue sapphire engagement ring to her Monica Vinader earrings, the Duchess of Cambridge’s jewellery collection is always a talking point.

But there’s one detail that seems to have gone unnoticed over the years.

We’re all familiar with her stunning 12-carat sapphire engagement ring and her wedding band. But the duchess also wears a third ring, on her wedding finger.

And the piece in question is just as sentimental.

Alongside the other two, the Duchess of Cambridge also stacks a white gold ring, studded with diamonds.

The £995 Eclipse diamond eternity ring - by high-end designer Annoushka - is thought to be a gift from her husband, Prince William. It was given to the duchess following the birth of Prince George, back in 2013.

The 0.23 carat diamond ring sits beautifully alongside the enormous engagement sapphire - which once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

William proposed to Kate with the sapphire ring - encrusted with 14 solitaire diamonds - on a trip to Kenya.

Her wedding ring is made up of Welsh gold - following a family tradition, founded by late The Queen Mother.

Welsh gold has been used for wedding rings of the royal family since 1923.

But these three rings are not the only pieces of jewellery that Prince William has given the duchess.

It’s believed that Kate also received a rose gold ring from Prince William during the early days of their relationship - while they were studying at St. Andrews.

She was spotted wearing the ring – which features both the couple’s birthstones – on their graduation ceremony, back in 2015.
