No more tears? Earlier this year Meghan Markle emailed Kensington Palace to correct the allegedly false reports she made Kate Middleton cry. Now a royal expert claims that Kate Middleton wants to be the peace maker.

• Rumors swirled that Meghan Markle made Kate Middleton cry over a disagreement about a flower girl's dress  ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding.
• Meghan revealed in her tell-all with Oprah Winfrey that it was actually Kate who made Meghan cry. A royal journalist just revealed that Kate isn't letting this accusation affect her.
• In other royal news, the Queen will meet with Jill and Joe Biden in the U.K. while the president is in Britain for the G7 Summit.

Before her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle had a misunderstanding with Kate Middleton. Over the years, claim and counter claim have surfaced: did Meghan make Kate cry? Or was it vice versa?

Now, we're told, Kate wants out of the fray. Royal journalist Camilla Tominey says  Kate "rose decidedly above it all", in an article for The Daily Telegraph's Stella Magazine.

In March 2021, Omid Scobie, Harper's Bazaar's royal editor at large, revealed  Meghan emailed Kensington Palace, requesting they correct the claims she made Kate cry. The email followed an earlier request to Prince Harry, asking him to sign a statement indicating that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had not bullied Harry and Meghan.

Scobie's sources revealed Meghan wrote, "Well, if we’re just throwing any statement out there now, then perhaps KP can finally set the record straight about me."

During her sit-down with Oprah Winfrey in March, Megan alleged that she was actually the one left in tears over the fiasco, even though she was painted as the villain.

"I don't say that to be disparaging to anyone because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something," Meghan said. "But she owned it, and she apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing."

Shortly after this revelation, Kate Middleton's uncle strongly disagreed with Meghan's claim, and once again, the two were portrayed as rivals.

Now, according to Tominey, Kate wishes to "set aside any personal resentment she may still feel about Harry and Meghan's televised two-hour tell-all". By attempting to start conversations at the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral "Kate put her best foot forward in trying to carve a path to reconciliation between the brothers."

Will both parties be able to move on past the flower girl dress feud so that their husbands and children can have a relationship? Here's hoping.
