Camilla Parker Bowles has paid tribute to Prince Philip by reminding royal fans of one of his lesser-known passions – reading.
- Camilla Parker Bowles has dedicated the latest reading list in her book club to Prince Philip.
- The Duchess of Cornwall chose four very different books to ensure there's something that will appeal to everyone.
- In other royal news, Prince Harry wrote ‘deeply personal’ note to Prince Charles to ‘set things straight’ ahead of Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
Camilla Parker Bowles has celebrated Prince Philip's legacy by highlighting one of his favourite pastimes – cracking open a book.
The Duchess of Cornwall dedicated four novels to her late father-in-law to kick off Season Two of her online book club, which launched earlier this year to help people through the darker months of lockdown.
"As Patron of BookTrust, which I inherited from my late father-in-law His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, I would like to dedicate the next series of my Reading Room to him, in memory of a great fellow reader," she wrote.
The eclectic literary lineup, which was selected by Camilla herself, includes Girl by Edna O'Brien, A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles, and The Red Notebook by Antoine Laurain. The series will commence with The Secret Commonwealth from the Book of Dust by Philip Pullman, a fantasy novel written by the author of the trilogy His Dark Materials.

A huge fan of his work, Camilla is now excited to share her love of Pullman with her fellow bookworms.
"I have enjoyed every book that Philip has written and have followed Lyra through all her trials. This book (the second in the trilogy) is no exception, as we immerse ourselves in this fantasy's mystical adventures," she wrote in a message on Instagram. The duchess has also revealed that Philip himself will be sharing some insights with the book club in the coming weeks.
Since starting her Reading Room in January, Camilla has welcomed over 100,000 members into the free online community.
The project, which was also the first-ever royal book club, created a space for avid readers to connect with the duchess and one another over their enthusiasm for all things fiction. Participants in the group can expect to find novel recommendations, interviews with authors, and plenty of book-themed chatter.
