Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall has shared an emotional message after her husband Prince Charles tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall has shared an emotional message with the country after the population was told to isolate amid the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
It comes after the royal’s husband, heir apparent Prince Charles, became the first member of the British Royal Family to contract the highly contagious virus.
In other royal news, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle reportedly left Canada to set up a new home over in California.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall shared an emotional message with the country for a very important reason.

The royal, who has often spoken out in support of domestic violence organisations in the past and has previously worked with charities SafeLives, Refuge and Women's Aid, shared an important message about the position of domestic abuse victims amid the coronavirus outbreak.

After the population was told earlier this week that people now have to stay inside and self-isolate unless in certain circumstances, Duchess Camilla expressed concern for those in vulnerable positions.

‘This is a hard time for everyone, as we are all asked to stay at home to stay safe,’ said the Duchess in a statement. ‘But for some of you it is even harder, because home is not a safe place.

‘I can only imagine that being asked to stay there could feel very isolating and frightening for you and your family,’ she continued. ‘It may mean spending more time with the person who is harming you.

‘If this is your situation, or you are worried about someone else, I want you to know that you are not alone.

‘Even if you cannot leave your home, you can call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline or contact one of the domestic abuse charities. Please stay safe and get help’.

The Duchess also shared information for people who may be isolating with an abuser, saying, ‘If you are in immediate danger, please call 999 and ask for the police.
