This Morning viewers claim there was an icy exchange between Alison Hammond and Ruth Langsford.

It was revealed earlier this week that Ruth and her TV presenting husband Eamonn Holmes would no longer present Friday's show - something they've been doing for years.

Instead, This Morning favourite Alison Hammond will be replacing them on the sofa with Dermot O'Leary.

The awkward exchange came when Alison, who was presenting This Morning yesterday with Phillip Schofield, attempted to say hello to Ruth, as they cut to her in the Loose Women studio.

According to viewers, the Loose Women presenter barely acknowledged Alison and spoke directly to Phillip.

One This Morning viewer tweeted: "Ruth speaking to Phil and ignoring Alison on this morning. Awkward."

While another said: "Alison waving to Ruth. Awkward #ThisMorning ".

Another fan of the show noted: "Slightly awkward that Alison is presenting #ThisMorning today and then Ruth pops up on loose women."

Despite the slightly icy exchange Alison seemed to have a great time presenting the show with Phillip Schofield yesterday. She was stepping in for Holly Willoughby, who seems to be off ill. While Davina Mcall stepped in to present the show with Phillip this morning.

Some viewers were concerned about Holly's absence yesterday, with one even tweeting: "So Holly is just having a day off? Something's not right here." It looks like it's all change at This Morning!
