Continuing her role as Queen Elizabeth II, Olivia Colman has spoken out about a royal encounter of her own.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Olivia Colman was asked if she had ever met a royal, to which she replied, “yes, but it didn’t go very well.”
The star said she struck up a conversation with Prince William, while the pair attended a dinner together.
She said, “He asked what I was doing at the moment before he quickly added, ‘Actually, I know what you’re doing,’
“I was so excited and asked, ‘Have you watched it?’ His answer was a firm, ‘No.’
"But he was very charming and very lovely.”
Olivia also revealed that she worked with a movement coach to perfect the monarch’s walk.
“It turns out I can't change what my body does," she said. "So I still walk like me, which I've been told is like a farmer.”
The Oscar-winning actress appeared on the chat show alongside her co-star Helena Bonham Carter, who plays Princess Margaret in the series.
Helena Bonham Carter told Graham Norton that she used a psychic to speak to the ghost of Princess Margaret, before she had accepted the Netflix role, saying that she asked the late princess if she was happy for her to play the role.
