Mariah Carey is known for hitting those high notes, and she recently showed us just how high she can go. To commemorate getting her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Mariah recorded the experience and posted it on Instagram to encourage her fans to do the same thing.
Getting a shot can be a nerve-racking experience for some people, and it's clear from the singer's experience, she's not a fan of needles. The star still kept the recording lighthearted though, and even brought a special guest with her "in spirit" to help her get through the anxiety of getting a shot.

Mariah captioned the video "Vaccine side effect: G6," and in it, we see her talk us through the entire experience.
The singer immediately gets candid, saying, "I'm here excited and nervous a little bit about getting this shot."
In the background, you can see and hear a couple of medical professionals prepping the supplies to administer the vaccine. Mariah even made sure to show her 10 million followers her special guest, Prince (who was there in spirit), printed on the shirt of one of her supporters she brought.
When the time came to finally receive the shot, Mariah sat in her signature "filming stance," and maybe it was from the nerves, but the nurse warned the singer that she needed to relax her arm.
"That's the problem. I'm in my filming stance," Mariah responded.
As she tried relaxing her arm, the nurse inserted the needle into her arm, which received multiple high-pitched squeals from Mariah.
After it was finished, Mariah sighed and said, "It's only part one," before joking about how she didn't bleed after being poked by the needle.
"See? I've proven my point that I am actually a vampire," she laughed.
Of course, she still asked for a bright red Band-Aid to put over the injection site as proof of her bravery.
To end the video, Mariah went on to describe why she wanted to record the experience saying she's "encouraging" her fans to also get poked because "we're all in this together."
"Hoping for the best," she added.
