Parisian fashion (also known as 'French girl' fashion) has been dominating this year's most "it" trend. Celebrities including Drew Barrymore, J.Lo, Reese Witherspoon, and Anne Hathaway have been spotted sporting this effortlessly chic style only confirming it as a must-wear style.

While Paris is known as the fashion capital of the world, this style goes beyond designer and couture looks and focuses on casual Parisian wear.

What is French girl fashion?

Inspired by the casual everyday looks of Parisians, this look is obtainable for practically any style or budget. In its simplest form, the French girl style is supposed to look effortless yet dressy. Think trench coats, blazers paired with a casual top, non-distressed jeans with a cute blouse, and booties. The idea is to create an outfit that looks comfortable but put-together.

Celebrities have been spotted showing off this style, including Drew, who recently shared an Instagram celebrating her partnership with Walmart. In the post, she's wearing a delicate floral blouse, wide-leg jeans, brown booties, and a brown belt to tie the look together.

A trench coat is also essential and has been seen on stars like JLo, who effortlessly pulled it off in a campaign she did with Coach. Styled by Mariel Haenn, Rob Zangardi, and Oliver Rizzo, the trench coat adds a layer of dressiness to an otherwise casual outfit featuring a graphic t-shirt, embellished jeans, brown heels.

Practically all of these outfits can be created by using a combination of basics (practically no statement pieces are required). Reese shared her style on Instagram, too, with a gorgeous gingham dress and the caption, "Finally it's dress weather!"

If you're looking to go for an edgier look, Anne shows that the French girl style can adapt to that. In her Instagram post for Givenchy’s virtual fashion show, she not only shows off her French girl bangs but also a spiked black blazer over a bright red crop top.

Whether you decide to keep it soft and simple or edgy and put-together, this season proves that Parisian style is still no.1.
