Dame Judi Dench reveals what she's been up to in lockdown - and it sounds hilarious

Dame Judi Dench has revealed the hilarious activity that's been keeping her busy in lockdown.

The iconic British actress began reaching younger audiences recently when she started getting involved with her grandson's social media antics.

Judi, whose young grandson Sam Williams has built up quite a following on video sharing app TikTok, has been getting involved in the hilarious online dance challenges to keep herself occupied in the coronavirus lockdown.

Admitting that Sam actively encourages her to get involved thanks to the great reaction her appearances in the short videos, Judi explained that she's often been on her feet learning routines.

Speaking on an interview on ITV's This Morning, the 85-year-old star joked, "I’m not allowed any time off, I’ve got to go on and then he says ‘No, we are not ready to film yet’ and I have to go on doing it until I get it right, quite right!"

Judi first took the internet by surprise when she joined the TikTok community alongside Sam to perform a viral dance to Cheryl by Yung Gravy.

Loads of fans responded to the clip in a great way, with many reckoning that Judi is an excellent grandma.

During her chat with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Judi also opened up about the honour of being chosen to star on this year's June cover of British Vogue, becoming the magazines oldest cover star, ever.

Admitting that she was "squeamish" about having her photograph taken for the globally famous publication, Judi said the photoshoot for the cover was a "lovely" experience.

"Wehad the most lovely day and it was very relaxed. It was at the very beginning of the year," she said.

"I was taken there and put in wonderful clothes and there were two wind machines – that was my favourite."
