Deadline also reports that Rupert Young’s character is quite mysterious. “Young will play Jack, the newest member of the Ton with a connection to one of its most notable families and a Bridgerton mystery. The character was created for the series; he is not in the books,” said Deadline.
Netflix also announced two additional members of the cast on Twitter, “Shelley Conn will play Mary Sharma, Kate’s mother. Also say hello to Calam Lynch who will play Theo Sharpe.” Shelley Conn has various acting credits to her name. The actress has starred in numerous television shows and films and is most well known for her role in Liar as DI Vanessa Harmon. She also has acting credits in shows such as Terra Nova and Death in Paradise.
Calam Lynch is known for his work in Dunkirk and Benediction. Calam also starred in Derry Girls as John Paul O’Reilly so he will be rejoining his former cast member Nicola Coughlan who starred in the first season of Bridgerton as Penelope Featherington.
