Who doesn’t love McDonald’s french fries? In honor of National French Fry Day and supporting their loyal fan base around the world, the fast-food behemoth is giving away free fries on July 13 for any loyal fan who can make it to a location.
While pasta chips may be the Instagram snack du jour, it's not like they have an entire holiday dedicated to them. To celebrate National French Fry Day and over 66 years of customer loyalty, McDonald’s has officially changed July 13 from National French Fry Day to “World Famous Fan Day.”
The company is launching a new rewards app, and McDonald's customers will receive loyalty points for their purchases. For anyone who wants to score free fries on July 13, you’ll need to download the app. That’s not all the fast-food chain is offering though—true fans have the opportunity to prove their loyalty through the company’s World Famous Fan contest, with the ultimate prize on the line.
66 winners will receive one million reward points, or, “McDonald’s Money”. Then, one lucky winner will receive free french fries for life. To enter, you’ll have to download the app, then tag @McDonalds and share why you’re the most loyal fan on Twitter with the hashtag “#MyMcDonaldsFanContest” and your home state.
“We have the best fans in the world, who deserve to unlock perks for their loyalty,” vice president of digital customer experience and media, Alycia Mason, said in a statement.
“That is why we are so excited to bring My McDonald’s Rewards nationwide and celebrate with all of our guests on World Famous Fan Day. We’re eager to repay years of fandom by giving them what they love most about McDonald’s–our delicious food–for years to come.”
Whether you’re a fan of free food or just love fries, make sure to mark July 13 in your calendar for this tasty deal.
