Shoppers are raving over a pair of £19.50 leggings from M&S – for a very valid reason.
The well-loved British retailer is known for its designer lookalike offerings and its celeb-favoured fashion. But it turns out something very simple is the current star of the show for M&S fans – they happen to do the best leggings.
Whether you’re a fan of leggings with pockets that make life easier when you’re off to the gym, or smarter “jeggings” you can wear with boots and an oversized jumper for a cosy winter outfit, leggings have become a fashion staple.
And trusty M&S has a particular pair that’s caught the attention of shoppers. The high-street favourite’s Magic Shaping High Waisted Leggings are receiving a tsunami of rave reviews from very happy customers, thanks to their bargain price tag and their impressive figure-sculpting abilities.
Forget cheap leggings that show your underwear outline and highlight bits of your body you’d rather they didn’t – these will be your new go-to when it comes to comfy and casual. M&S says of the leggings, “Update your go-to leggings with this flattering high-waisted pair. Cut in a skinny fit with a covered waistband for a stylish touch. Crafted from stretchy fabric, part of our Magic range with tummy control.”
Firstly, the price point is very low for such a versatile item. M&S’s take on high-waisted leggings cost just £19.50 a pair, are thick enough to wear as trousers and are part of the brand’s Magic range, made with stretchy fabric designed with tummy control in mind.
How to style these M&S leggings
Gone are the days when wearing leggings was something you only did at the gym. These versatile leggings are a thick enough fabric to just about count as a fully fledged trouser, so you don’t need to worry about only teaming them with a baggy T-shirt; you could even smarten them them up with a structured top or fitted shirt, without feeling that you’ve forgotten to put your trousers on.
For a seasonal update, team this structured look with a longline coat or mac for a casual, autumnal look. Simple white trainers are all you need to complete the look.
What do the reviews say about M&S’s magic shaping high-waisted leggings?
With buyers dubbing them the “best leggings they've ever purchased”, it's no wonder the review section on the M&S website is full of five-star ratings and words of praise.
“What amazing leggings these are! The fit is perfect, they are so comfortable, perfect for both working from home and going for a hike. Not see-through at all, the material is very good quality and they make my butt look so good,” one says.
“Good fit and they look smart. Nice to find leggings with a nice deep waistband and decent quality and weight, can be worn with short tops and I don’t get the feeling that I’ve forgotten to put trousers on,” applauds another.
“I’m not usually a person who wears leggings, but these have 100% converted me!!! They fit great, very flattering, just waiting for the black ones to come back into stock,” reads a third.
“These leggings are made of a much more substantial fabric than most, which is great, especially for older women like myself. They hold everything in but still feel lovely and comfortable, being stretchy. Could be paired with tunics or dresses. They fit well and I am very pleased with them.”
