Netflix will shine a spotlight on Dolly Parton next month with the ‘Dolly Parton: A MusiCares Tribute’ concert.

Featuring a star-studded lineup of musical guests, the concert will feature covers of some of Dolly Parton’s greatest hits and provide viewers an inside look at the MusiCares award show (a typically industry-only event). Big Little Town will host and perform along with Willie Nelson, Katy Perry, Leon Bridges, and Dolly’s goddaughter Miley Cyrus.

Recorded back in 2019 before the Grammy’s, the event will honor Dolly as the MusiCares Person of The Year. She will also make history as the first country artist to be chosen for the award joining musical legends such as Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mack, Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney, and Bob Dylan.

Dolly shared her excitement for the special on Twitter, saying, “@MusiCare brought together some incredible artists to celebrate my career in 2019. Soon you can watch that unforgettable night whenever you want!”

What is MusiCares?

To help support struggling artists, The Recording Academy established the nonprofit organization MusiCares in 1989 to provide critical health and welfare services to the music community.

Each year, the award ceremony helps raise money to provide artists with resources and financial assistance for mental health and addiction recovery services, health services, and human services.

This is not the first time Dolly will be honored this year. She is also set to receive her own 'Female Force' comic book dedicated to inspirational women. The bio comic book will feature 22 illustrated pages about Dolly’s life and will be released in digital and print formats for fans to enjoy.
