Sharon Stone dresses appropriately for a hot summer’s day by the pool and the internet goes wild.

The internet has reacted with shock and awe that a woman in her early 60s continues to thrive.

Sharon Stone, 63, has been having a bumper year. The Basic Instinct actress may be in her fifth decade of showbusiness but her star continues to shine, having featured in Ryan Murphy’s hit Netflix series Ratched in September 2020 and releasing her memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice, in March 2021.

The book details some of her harrowing memories, including a near-death experience following a stroke.

So, it stands to reason that, with the sun shining, she’d make the most of happier days, enjoying some R&R and time in the pool.

Posing in a vibrant yellow bikini, the actress and author captioned her photo, “Happy Summer.”

The photo shows the Oscar-nominated actress going makeup-free with her blond hair cropped short.

Despite the overall normality of the situation, Sharon’s simple snap has made headlines all over the world.

Sharon Stone, they say, "flaunts her body at 63." Worse, she’s "causing a stir in candid bikini photo."

Science fiction comes into play when some headlines describe her as wowing "fans with age defying body."

Luckily, not everyone seems to be as amazed and astounded that a woman who has always maintained a healthy lifestyle continues to look and feel good.

Fans, both famous and non-famous alike, rushed to the comments section to heap praise on the Casino star.

Will and Grace actor Leslie Jordan joked that, “Even the dog knows you got IT”, alluding to Stone’s French Bulldog sneaking into the shot.

Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis wrote, “OK.... JUST.... WOW”, swapping the O for a sunshine emoji.

Charmed actress Rose McGowan commented, “you deserve all the Oscars that ever existed”, suggesting there might be a secret Best Bikini category others are unaware of.

Designer Vera Wang, actress Kate Hudson, Real Housewives cast member Lisa Rinna were all part of the chorus of commenters heaping praise on Stone’s sunny snap.

Sharon Stone also made headlines earlier this month, after comments made about Meryl Streep caused a maelstrom online.

Sharon was being asked by the interviewer about working with Meryl in The Laundromat. The question began, "So when you finally got to work with Meryl Streep, you realised –"

The Basic Instinct actor cut in, "I like the way you phrase that, that I finally got to work with Meryl Streep. You didn’t say, 'Meryl finally got to work with Sharon Stone.' Or we finally got to work together."

She added, "The business was set up that we should all envy and admire Meryl because only Meryl got to be the good one. And everyone should compete against Meryl. I think Meryl is an amazingly wonderful woman and actress. But in my opinion, quite frankly, there are other actresses equally as talented as Meryl Streep."

After the headlines broke, Sharon took to Twitter to clarify her position, writing, "To be clear; Meryl Streep is one of the greatest actors of all time. Just not to the exclusion of others."

After the unnecessary storm created by her comments, it's no surprise Sharon is looking towards a 'Happy Summer.'
