Thomas Cook reveals its most-booked family package holidays for 2019
Today, exclusively for woman&home readers, Thomas Cook has shared its most-booked package holiday destinations for summer 2019. If you’re planning ahead to next year, these are the top package holidays to consider.
Turkey has long been a hotspot for families and couples alike, and this summer, Thomas Cook’s 2019 Holiday Report revealed the country has leapfrogged Greece to become the second most popular destination after Spain (including mainland, Canaries and Balearic Islands).
Now we can share data exclusively compiled for woman&home that shows where Brits have booked their package holidays for this year. If you're planning a trip, book one of these great destinations.
1. Antalya, Turkey
Often called the ‘pearl of the Mediterranean’, Antalya ticks all the boxes for keeping holidaymakers of all ages satisfied. From the triple arches of Hadrian’s Gate and harbours lined with yachts to beautiful beaches and adrenaline water sports, it’s a wonderfully varied destination. Plus with a flight time of around four to five hours from the UK, it isn’t too far for sun-seekers.

2. Dalaman, Turkey
Turkey is dominating the package holiday market this year, with two destinations attracting Brits for sunny summer holidays. And with gems like the Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz, there’s no wonder. This stunning region of Turkey has a fascinating ghost town (Kayaköy), a brilliant city for sailing (Göcek) and even mud spas that have been used since the Roman times.
3. Palma, Mallorca, Spain
Spain has always been a firm family favourite, and Palma on the island of Mallorca is a worthy retreat for a summer package holiday. With a huge, imposing cathedral at its centre, it’s a stunning city for strolling in the sunshine. Nearby, there are fantastic beaches, and you can cool off amid creativity in the plentiful art galleries dotted throughout town.

4. Zante, Greece
It’s known for its wild party scene, sure, but Zante doesn’t have to be one long mad night out on The Strip. There are plenty of places to be a recluse, including gorgeous beaches and bays and some seriously fabulous hotels. It’s a favourite package holiday for its spectacular hotels, like SENTIDO Louis Plagos Beach right on the oceanfront, and famous for the shipwreck beach, Navagio.
5. Enfidha, Tunisia
Tunisia probably isn’t the first port of call for package holidays, but this town on the east coast of the country is a brilliant place for a week away. Guaranteed sunshine make it a sure spot for some sunbathing, and a number of excellent luxury hotels are dotted along the coast. If you want to go beyond the beaches and pools, try hot air ballooning over the desert, camel trekking or even diving.
