The Queen was spotted being driven around her vast Sandringham estate in Norfolk by her racing manager and friend John Warren, to check on her beloved horses.

  • Royal fans will be delighted to see the Queen back to her passion after ongoing mobility issues.
  • The monarch traveled to Sandringham ahead of her 96th birthday last week.
  • This follows royal news that Prince Louis would have had a different title without the Queen's intervention.

It seems the Queen's passion for horses, which she has enjoyed since childhood, is still very much her priority as she visited stables at her Sandringham estate.

The monarch appeared in high spirits as she sported her signature floral scarf paired with sunglasses and pearl earrings.

She was driven by John Warren has been at the Queen's service for several years and was even at her side at Royal Ascot when, in June 2013, the sovereign's horse Estimate won the Gold Cup on Ladies' Day.

The monarch's love for horses and horse racing was celebrated again earlier this week, when Buckingham Palace released The Queen's birthday photo, marking Her Majesty's 96th birthday.

The shot was taken at Windsor Castle last month by photographer Henry Dallal, and shows Her Majesty smiling while holding the rein of two of her beloved fell ponies.

This outing comes after The Queen's subtle sign that she doesn't need protecting was revealed after Prince Harry said he wants to make sure she's "got the right people around her."

Some have suggested that this was a dig at Angela Kelly, who has worked as the Queen's Personal Assistant and Senior Dresser since 2002, after first being introduced to her in 1992.

Prince Harry discussed his devotion to the Queen,  in a TV interview that aired on NBC's TODAY show. A part of this loyalty, revealed as Prince Harry opened up about his 'special relationship' with the Queen, is knowing that she's, "protected and got the right people around her."

Despite any suggestions that Her Majesty needs to be 'protected,' the Queen's unlikely lockdown hairdresser and closest aide Angela was seen driving onto Sandringham Estate on the monarch's birthday. This couldn't make it more clear that she's perfectly happy with those around her.
