Prince William is following in his mother’s footsteps—or should that be ski-tracks?—as he recreates childhood memories spent with Princess Diana and Prince Harry on the slopes. Diana taught the children to ski and now William is passing along the lessons to his own children on an Easter ski trip.

Prince William is continuing the legacy of his mother, Princess Diana, with his latest family trip.

William, along with Kate and their three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, are making the most of the Easter holidays in the UK by jetting off for a fun skiing break.

Kate and William are both avid skiers, and for William, getting to share his favorite pastime with his children has the added bonus of recreating special childhood memories with Princess Diana.

Princess Diana took her sons, Princes William and Harry, on their very first ski trip in 1991. Diana taught her boys the ropes of skiing the slopes in Lech, Austria, which boasts more than 305km of hills to enjoy.

It was during this ski trip that Diana pleaded with paparazzi to leave her and her family alone while they were enjoying their quiet family vacation, being bold enough to approach people filming her and her children to ask that they stop.

She was adamant that the ski trip was to be a regular family holiday, and had ordered that they would have no bodyguards in attendance to ensure that the vacation would be as normal as possible.

This is most likely why William shares ski trips with the important people in his life.

Kate and William went on several skiing trips together when they were dating, first being spotted holidaying as a couple in Switzerland in 2004.

Two years later, they shared their first public kiss on the slopes.

In 2012, William treated Kate to a luxury break in a chalet Verbier, the main resort of the 4 Vallées ski area in Switzerland, after they spent six weeks apart during his RAF helicopter training in the Falklands.
