Prince Harry pens emotional letter in honour of late Princess Diana

Prince Harry has praised the work of a landmine charity supported by his late mother, Princess Diana, during the coronavirus crisis.
- Prince Harry continues to works closely with The HALO Trust - who remove landmines in over 25 countries and territories
- He penned a letter to the charity thanking them for working throughout the pandemic
- The late Princess of Wales worked alongside the charity during her trip to Angola in 1997
- It follows royal news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are celebrating some exciting baby news
The Duke of Sussex has echoed the sentiment of his late mother, Princess Diana, by supporting The HALO Trust - a humanitarian landmine clearance project.
Prince Harry has been heavily involved in the charity for a number of years, and has now penned a heartfelt letter to them thanking them for their efforts during the coronavirus crisis.
The HALO Trust - whose aim is "to protect lives & restore livelihoods" by clearing landmines - revealed news of Harry's letter on Twitter.
They tweeted, "This week Prince Harry wrote to praise HALO's staff for continuing to clear landmines as well as tackling Covid: 'A disease that knows no frontlines'."
As well as continuing their mission to clear landmines, The HALO Trust have been raising funds to support the most vulnerable hit by coronavirus - by providing PPE and other medical supplies.
And Prince Harry praised their admirable and "extraordinary" efforts.
The 35-year-old said, “In these trying times, hope comes from the light of our common humanity. Nowhere is that light burning brighter than at The HALO Trust.
"As countries closed their borders, lockdowns came into force and international travel became harder, many might have chosen to suspend operations. Instead, HALO kept open a presence in all 25 of its country operations.”
While most people put their tools down during lockdown, volunteers at The HALO Trust have kept going.
“It is at times like this that the work and efforts of people like you – prepared to do whatever it takes to help, serve and protect others – shines through," he wrote.
"In sometimes hazardous and dangerous situations, your commitment to your communities and people who need your help is remarkable."
With his mother having played a huge part in raising the profile of THE Halo Trust in 1997, Prince Harry is proud to follow in her footsteps.
"I am hugely proud to be able to support such an extraordinary organisation."
