Kate Middleton’s urgent request to the public has come as she prepares for a major Christmas appearance.
- The Princess of Wales has shared an exciting message ahead of her upcoming Christmas carol concert which will be filmed on December 15.
- When it comes to the final carol played on this special occasion it seems Kate Middleton needs a little help deciding.
- This royal news comes as Queen Camilla quietly donated a generous gift to a deserving cause.
For people across the world Christmas is a time of tradition and no-one does festive customs quite like the Royal Family. The Royal Family’s Christmas traditions are well-known - from gathering at Sandringham in Norfolk like the King will do this year, to King Charles’ sentimental Christmas gifting traditions. Earlier this year a newer tradition was confirmed when it was announced that the Princess of Wales would be hosting a Christmas carol concert again.
In 2021 Kate Middleton stole the show with her piano skills during ITV’s Royal Carols: Together at Christmas concert. And there’s already excitement surrounding this year’s event since Prince William and Kate’s invitation was released. But it’s likely few fans saw Kate Middleton’s urgent request coming as she’s asked fans a difficult question ahead of this major festive appearance…
Taking to social media on November 28 the Princess of Wales re-tweeted an earlier message from ITV’s Good Morning Britain, reiterating an important request.
“The Princess of Wales would like your help to choose the final carol for this year’s Together at Christmas service at Westminster Abbey, broadcast on ITV on Christmas Eve,” the original message declared, along with a poll.
Whilst the future Queen Consort added, “Help us decide the final carol for Together At Christmas”, before pointing down to the original Tweet.
The options that fans can choose from are Hark! The Herald, Joy to the World and O Come, All Ye Faithful. All are classic Christmas carols and some people might have an instant preference for one, helping the Princess of Wales to make this key decision.

The current poll percentages show that O Come, All Ye Faithful is out in front, with Hark! The Herald least popular. As the final carol to round-off what promises to be another spectacularly festive concert whichever one wins the poll and is chosen will have a special place in the evening’s event.
Kate Middleton’s urgent request to the public is exactly that - urgent - as it comes with just over two weeks to go before the concert takes place and is filmed on December 15 when concert-planning is likely already in the final stages.
The concert will then be broadcast for the world to enjoy on Christmas Eve, marking a wonderful start to the main festive period. Although the rest of the concert’s songs and other content isn’t yet known, it’s said that the event will in some way pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth.
Already Kate Middleton’s heartbreaking amendment ensured that the Queen’s favorite dog breed - corgis - were included on the front of the illustrated invitation for the concert. If this is anything to go by then the upcoming concert’s tribute will likely be equally as heartfelt and poignant.
It’s possible that we could also get to see the Princess of Wales play the piano as she did last year when she performed For Those Who Can’t Be Here to Tom Walker’s accompanying vocals.
