Kate Middleton’s magical moment could potentially be tinged with tension amid an upcoming release from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

As the release of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries approaches, reports have suggested King Charles and Prince William could “put on a united front”. Already the explosive trailer has sparked a major response and teased shocking revelations to come, with Prince Harry opening up on the “pain and suffering” of women in the Royal Family in the trailer. The release date for the two part series has also now been confirmed by the streaming giant and it seems that Kate Middleton’s magical moment could be tinged with tension this year.

Volume I of Harry & Meghan will land on December 8, but Volume II will premiere on December 15 - the same day as one of the Princess of Wales’ most highly-anticipated festive events.

Last year Kate Middleton stole the show with her piano performance during the Royal Carols: Together at Christmas concert that she hosted at Westminster Abbey. And last month the future Queen Consort announced that she’ll be hosting another one  that is set to be broadcast on ITV on Christmas Eve.

But the concert will actually be filmed on December 15 which clashes with the release of Harry & Meghan Volume II. The docuseries will likely have already landed and been watched by plenty of fans at home by the time the concert begins filming later that day.

It’s highly unlikely that Kate Middleton will address the release of the Sussexes’ series. But it’s possible that the controversial documentary and its potential impact upon the Royal Family and their relationship with the Sussexes could be on her mind given the kinds of candid revelations that have been teased in the trailer.

Recent years have seen rumors of a rift between the Sussexes and Prince William and Kate Middleton circulate following their Oprah Winfrey interview and these are perhaps unlikely to dissipate given the Netflix series. This also isn’t the only release coming up soon from the Sussexes with Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, set to be published on January 10th - just a day after Kate Middleton’s 41st birthday.

Described as a “wholly truthful” and “accurate” account of his life, the Prince, who is fifth in the royal line of succession, previously said he was “excited” for people to read this “first-hand account”.

This mirrors Meghan’s question put to fans in the Netflix docuseries trailer - “When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?” So it seems Prince Harry’s book could be just as potentially contentious and is also released close to a day important to his sister-in-law.

Even if the release of the biography or Netflix series does play on her mind a little, though, with Kate Middleton’s magical moment coming up she will likely be looking to focus on hosting a wonderful festive carol concert for people to enjoy amid the Sussex docuseries clash.
