Kate Middleton and Prince William's Easter mistake was a faux pas that broke royal protocol and they've never done it again

Kate Middleton and Prince William's Easter mistake took place at an event considered of the utmost importance to Her Majesty the Queen—the annual Easter service.

It might be all Easter eggs and bunnies for the average person during the season's festivities, but for the Royal Family, there are a whole lot of commitments on top of that. One of those is an annual service held at the chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The Cambridges messed up back in 2018 by making a huge faux-pas—arriving after the Queen. The Sun reports that the reason for their tardiness wasn't their fault as they were delayed by the most relatable issue—traffic!

After a few days spent away with Duchess Kate's family, they were caught up on busy roads. Turns out that even members of the firm can't dodge congested roads during the Easter holidays.

Owing to their lateness Prince William and Kate, who were expecting Prince Louis at the time, had to sneak into service as quietly as possible after Her Majesty had already taken her seat.

Much to the relief of all involved, the Queen's sense of humor was clear, as ever, as the publication reports that she was seen having a laugh with the couple after the service ended.

Traffic concerns may become a thing of the past as it's been reported that Kate Middleton and Prince William could move to Windsor to be closer to the Queen. The couple currently resides in apartment 1A at Kensington Palace, which is only a 10-minute car journey from Buckingham Palace.

Despite this desirable location and luxurious setting, the family is reportedly eager to take the kids away from the London limelight, where they have more freedom and outside space.

Although it's unclear where they'll move, it's been alleged that Prince William and Kate Middleton shunned the Queen’s ‘forgotten castle’ in favor of checking out private mansions.
