Pregnant Olympian Shawn Johnson reveals she’s tested positive for Covid-19

Shawn Johnson, who is currently pregnant with her second child, has revealed she’s tested positive for Covid-19. The former gymnast posted a deeply personal Instagram Story on Sunday, revealing that she had been diagnosed with the virus. Shawn also shared some of her main concerns and symptoms and also how her revelation will be a ‘reminder’ to some. 

'Got my results back today and they came back positive for Covid,' she explained. 

'Not going to lie... I'm nervous knowing I'm positive,' Shawn continued. 'It's been a long two weeks of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) with Drew and now this... my body is exhausted.'

Shawn Johnson and her husband Andrew East are already devoted parents to daughter Drew Hazel East who turned one last October. Writing of her concern for the health of her family, she revealed: ‘I don’t want to get my family sick' adding 'I have asthma and have had it my entire life so this scares me a little extra'.

And it seems that her own diagnosis is not the only experience Shawn has had with the virus. 

She also disclosed that adding to her concerns is the fact that she ‘had a very close family member fight for his life last month while battling Covid so it’s a serious topic of concern/hits home in our household.’

What Covid-19 symptoms has Shawn Johnson been experiencing?

Olympian and NYT bestselling author Shawn went on to share some of the Covid-19 symptoms she had been experiencing so far. She stated: 'So far, I have a cough, terrible sore throat, and headache. Fatigue for sure but.... that's pregnancy haha'.

She also disclosed that she was not 'looking for any kind of pitty party' and that her intention for being so candid with people was just 'a reminder to take care of yourself. Drink an extra water tonight and wash your hands.'

Shawn and her husband Andrew first revealed they were expecting their second child in January. Their YouTube video entitled, Finding Out I'm PREGNANT + Surprising My Husband!, has now received over a million views.
