Virgin River season 4 is happening! Fans rejoice as the Netflix drama looks set to reveal who actually shot Jack
The small-town drama isn't over quite yet as Virgin River season 3 left way too many questions unanswered
Thankfully, Virgin River is not canceled as Netflix has renewed the heartwarming drama for two more seasons.
Virgin River season 4 and 5 will soon be on the way after Virgin River season 3 provided fans with their summer-long binge. Some of the cast of the Netflix hit show took to social media with Ben Hollingsworth and Colin Lawrence—who play Brady and Preacher respectively—sharing the huge update on the show's renewal. Now that the news is out, viewers just cannot wait for more episodes.
Season 4 is going to be changing in a major way. Traditionally, seasons have been around 10 episodes long, but now, Virgin River season 4 will include two extra episodes.

Virgin River has been given high praise from audiences since its debut in 2019. Most fans especially fell for the romance between the two leads Mel Monroe and Jack Sheridan, played by Alexandra Breckinridge and Martin Henderson. With Virgin River season 4 in the works, there's a lot of questions still unanswered from that season 3 cliffhanger.

What is Virgin River season 4 about?
The plot for Virgin River season 4 has not yet been announced, but based on how the previous season left things, we have a hint or two at what's to come.
The finale of season 3 had most of us jumping for joy when Jack decided to pop the question to Mel. That happy dance was short-lived though once Mel stopped his proposal to reveal she's pregnant. To most that would seem like exciting news, but a lot of the season hinted at Jack being against having children, especially with surprise twins on the way with another woman, and a custody battle for the babies brewing.
Things only took a turn for the worse during those final moments as Jack expressed his excitement over the two of them having a baby. Mel squashed those feelings when she told him she doesn't know if he's the father. At that moment, the credits were cued and we were all left reeling over just what had happened.
What's in store for next season? Well, it'll probably involve Mel's pregnancy and drama surrounding who the father is. We also have to deal with the aftermath of Preacher being poisoned by Paige's "old friend" and Brady going to jail after being discovered with the gun that killed Brie's brother. Thankfully, we have two more confirmed seasons to unpack all of that and more. Here's to hoping we'll actually learn the identity of who shot Jack, too!
Who is in the Virgin River cast?
Virgin River season 3 returned with series regulars and some new faces, including Jack's sister Brie Sheridan (played by Zibby Allen). The full cast included:
- Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel
- Martin Henderson as Jack
- Tim Matheson as Doc
- Annette O'Toole as Hope
- Colin Lawrence as Preacher
- Benjamin Hollingsworth as Brady
- Grayson Gurnsey as Ricky
- Daniel Gillies as Mark
- Melinda Dahl as Stacie
- Zibby Allen as Brie
- Stacey Farber as Tara
- Sarah Dugdale as Lizzie
When does Virgin River season 4 come out?
Unfortunately, fans are going to be waiting a bit longer for the new season to drop on Netflix. Production for the upcoming season reportedly started back in July, with an estimated premiere date for sometime in 2022. If you can't decide what to watch in the meantime, Netflix's tear-jerker The Starling, and more drama-filled shows and movies plan to hit the streaming service before next year.
