Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel-Horwood reveals Duchess of Cornwall’s backstage antics during set visit
Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel-Horwood has revealed the Duchess of Cornwall’s backstage antics during a set visit.
Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel-Horwood has given an insight into the Duchess of Cornwall’s backstage antics.
The Royal Family are notorious fans of the BBC ballroom dancing competition and judge Craig Revel-Horwood has given a sneaky insight into the time when Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall made a visit to the set.
Speaking to OK!, the longtime dancing judge spoke about how “the royals love Strictly”, revealing, “I took the Duchess of Cornwall on a tour of the studio a while back and we even danced together”.
He added, “It’s funny to think when we’re filming the show the Queen sits at home watching it. But it’s certainly nice to have her as a fan!”
Craig also spoke about the upcoming series of Strictly, explaining how he thinks it will provide some welcome escapism after a tumultuous 2020.
“I think it’s the pick-me-up that we all need after a difficult year,” he said. “It’s that feeling of normality and comfort after months of uncertainty that I hope people will appreciate”.

Addressing the news that fellow judge Bruno Tonioli will be joining the team remotely at first as he is judging Dancing with the Stars over in America, Craig said, “I’ll miss his vivacious energy. I love him and the fact that he’s totally mad.
"We usually have dressing rooms next to each other and the walls are paper thin! Not that it matters, I can hear his laughter and screeching a mile off!” he added, quipping, “So that’s one plus. I will have a nice quiet start to the series”.
The Strictly judge also revealed that he gets a stream of celebs asking to take part in the series every year, saying, “When the series first started back in 2004, everyone was terrified to do it. Now we have people desperate to.
“Every year around the time of casting I start getting a flurry of emails from celebs asking for a favour. As if I have that sort of power.”
“If I had my way, Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell would be on the show,” he added. “They’re my dream names”.
We wonder if we’ll ever see Duchess Camilla on the show!
