Olivia Colman rocks edgy new hairdo and stylish oversized power suit at Baftas 2022
Olivia Colman teamed her wavy new hairstyle with a stunning black trouser suit at the Bafta TV Awards 2022
Olivia Colman nailed the business-casual look at the 2022 Bafta Awards last night, stepping out in a stunning new hairdo and chic power suit.
The Oscar-winning actress graced the red carpet of Britain's most iconic TV awards show in London on Sunday evening, marking her first media appearance since the British Academy Television Craft Awards in April.
She was joined by her husband, Ed Sinclair, whose Sky show Landscapers (which Olivia also starred in!) was nominated for seven awards. Unfortunately, the black-comedy miniseries didn't take home any accolades, with its most notable defeat being its loss of Best Miniseries to the BBC prison drama, Time.
Luckily, there is one category in which Olivia absolutely scored top points—and that's fashion. After sailing her way into our Oscars 2022 best-dressed list, the 48-year-old proved once again that when it comes to style, she's always a winner.
Olivia looked glamorously formidable at the Baftas in an oversized black trouser suit by Alexander McQueen and strappy black heels, accented by a silver clutch and a cluster of silver finger rings. She teamed the £1,790 double-breasted blazer with a pair of dangling diamond earrings, avoiding an accessories overload by skipping the neck jewelry.
As for her makeup, The Crown star embraced a nighttime look with smokey eyes and glossy lips—oh, and that flawless Olivia Colman skin we all know and envy.
Her dark locks, which were slicked back for her last red carpet appearance, were styled in a tousled, asymmetrical bob hairstyle to balance out the professional tailoring of the suit. The cut is often considered to be one of the best short hairstyles for women, allowing versatility without the high maintenance headache.

Olivia maintained these relaxed vibes when she presented the Bafta for Best Entertainment Show, confessing to the audience that she's glad to avoid the nerves that usually come with award shows.
“Congratulations to everyone nominated and on a personal note, can I just say how delighted I am that this time it is my husband who has to spend the night pooing himself," she joked.
This is far from the first time that Olivia has made a statement on the red carpet. She wowed at the 94th Academy Awards in March, showing up in a gorgeous silver Dior gown and diamond drop earrings. Having previously felt 'embarrassed' to pose for photographers, she now embraces the opportunity to show off her understated style. Speaking to Vogue in 2019, she revealed that she had a 'breakthrough' while wearing a Stella McCartney cape at the Venice Film Festival in 2018.
"I felt, I can do this, I can do this," she recalled. "I’d always used clothes as a sort of mask. I discovered that they can make you feel strong and powerful."
