Presenter Eamonn Holmes is very active on his Instagram account, delighting fans with various photos from his life.

But recently he shared a throwback photo from his younger days, alongside a more recent photo. In both, he’s posed next to a car.

Fans loved the image, with actress Martine McCutcheon writing: “I love this @eamonnholmes 💖👏🏼and you remind me of a young George Best in the top one... Do you know what year was it taken?”. Eamonn replied: “1979”.

A fan asked if the photo was taken in the same place, to which Eamonn said: “Yep ..... by accident really. Just remembered I was parked roughly , though not exactly in the same position as the original pic.”

The place happened to be his mother’s house in Belfast, with fans praising him for keeping in touch with her throughout all those years. One wrote: “Irish sons and their mothers is such a special bond what a loving son.”

Another said: “Amazing that your mam is still living in the same road. So when you say you are going home you really are going home! Super pic”.

Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langsford now live in Surrey, after the presenter relocated to London for work in the 1980s. But it’s lovely to see that he still goes home to Belfast when he can!

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have now finished their presenting duties on This Morning, as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have now returned after summer break.

But we're sure the duo will be back on our screens before we know it, we do love Eamonn and Ruth's antics!
