Dan Walker responded to Piers Morgan's Twitter tirade in the best possible way and fans can't get enough of it. In the battle of the former Strictly star vs the former morning TV host—Dan clearly came out on top!

Twitter can occasionally be a playground for trolls, and some users seem to not have a kind word to say at all. Despite Strictly's Dan Walker receiving hate on the platform, he's managed to remain largely positive on his own account.

However, the TV presenter couldn't help himself after receiving a bit of a catty remark from one of Twitter's most infamous antagonists, Piers.

After his departure from Strictly, Dan said in a Tweet, "Well… what a ride! #Strictly has been a truly wonderful experience for me. I enjoyed every second. @NadiyaBychkova is a superstar: kind, encouraging, funny, clever, the best teacher I could ever have hoped for & a great friend. Thanks for the support & thanks for having us."

Piers responded, "You came 5th, mate. She needed a better pupil." This came only hours after another post promoting his TV show in which he took aim at Dan, saying, "Lewis Hamilton's won the Grand Prix, Dan Walker's been kicked off Strictly... round off a perfect day by tuning into Life Stories now on ITV."

Dan had his own cheeky retort, taking aim at the famous clip in which Piers stormed off set during a live broadcast of the show he used to host, Good Morning Britain. Piers Morgan left Good Morning Britain after comments he made regarding Meghan Markle received thousands of complaints from viewers.

The gif came along with a tweet which read, "Morning. I did think about walking off when @CraigRevHorwood gave me some grief in week 2 but… who does that?"

Fans couldn't get enough of Dan's witty response. One user said, "Dan Walker burning up more than just the dance floor!!!"

Another staunch supporter added, "Dan you are a real gentleman. I have really enjoyed watching you every week. I can't say the same about that Morgan chap!"

Although the exchange between the two gentlemen wasn't the kindest of interactions, here's hoping it's all just in good fun.
