Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole joins X Factor: Celebrity

X Factor: Celebrity

We all know Brendan Cole as one of Strictly’s professional dancers, but now he’s swapping his dancing shoes for a microphone instead.

Teaming up with Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards, to form singing duo Cole and Edwards, he’ll be up against a whole host of other stars wanting to be crowned winner of The X Factor: Celebrity.

The new programme will be hosted by Dermot O’Leary and sees 15 star studded acts trying to impress three judges: Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.

Confirming the news on Instagram, Brendan shared a teaser video with the caption “the pro-dancer and actor”, as originally shared by The X Factor.

In his caption, he said, 'Hmmmm....Who guessed?'

Another added, 'Think all your true fans did from your silhouette.'

Brendan also shared a photo of himself alongside singing partner Jeremy Edwards, writing: 'Here we go! Never thought I’d say these words... @thexfactor!!! @jq_edwards and I are Edwards and Cole. @ITV'

Brendan and Jeremy will be up against 14 other acts, which are organised in a similar fashion to the original X Factor. This time, they’re comprised of Groups, Overs and Unders.

Other groups include The Islanders, which is a group of four stars from last year’s series: Wes Nelson, Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker and Samira Mighty, and Max and Harvey, who are identical twins and social media stars.

For the Overs, The Chase star Jenny Ryan will be competing, as well as BBC Panorama journalist Martin Bashir and Coronation Street’s Victoria Ekanoye.

David Hasselhoff’s daughter Hayley will be part of the Unders, alongside EastEnder’s star Jonny Labey and Glee star Kevin McHale.

The full line up has been released on The X-Factor’s Twitter account, so you can see exactly who Brendan Cole is up against.

The X Factor: Celebrity starts on October 12th over on ITV1.
