How we tested the Weber Spirit E-310 Barbecue
The Weber Spirit E-310 Barbecue was reviewed by Celine, who is part of our tester network. Here's a little more about why she's the perfect person for the job...

Celine is recently retired and busier than ever, currently helping renovate her daughter’s 100-year-old home while enjoying time with her first grandchild. A long-time fan of outdoor cooking, she previously lived in South Africa for 12 years, where regular ‘braais’ (barbecues) became a way of life.
Unboxing the Weber Spirit E-310 Barbecue
Celine has actually already owned a Weber gas barbecue for around 15 years, before this arrived, so she had some expectations laid out already. However, from the moment it arrived, she was blown away. She says, "Weber is synonymous with quality and that quality was evident right from the delivery – in fact, the packaging was so good it took myself and my husband almost 20 minutes just to unbox it."
Getting the barbecue ready for grilling can be a tough task, but Celine found assembly was straightforward, with clear instructions. She adds, "there are a fair number of different parts involved but the instructions were very easy to follow and within the hour, my son had put it together for us and we were finally ready to try it out on the first sunny weekend this Spring." I've known barbecues take up to 5 hours, so from box to barbecue in under 1 hour is really good. As Celine pointed out, it's helpful to have a helper around to speed the process along, but this is a great start for the Weber.
What is the Weber Spirit E-310 Barbecue like to use?
Celine's experience solidifies that the Weber Spirit E-310 is a brilliant barbecue for controlled, reliable outdoor cooking. From the outset, Celine noted that “it only took around 10 minutes and we were ready to start cooking,” which speaks to the efficiency of its three-burner gas system and reliable ignition. That quick preheat is paired with a clear lid-mounted thermometer, so you’re not guessing your temperatures.

Once up to heat, the cast iron grill grates come into their own. As Celine puts it, “they really retain their heat,” which is exactly what you want for consistent searing and even cooking across the surface, especially when you’re feeding a group.
Celine also found that the grill retains heat exceptionally well, which is a defining feature of its porcelain-enamelled, cast iron cooking grates. As she explains, “there was no frustrating cooling off which you can often experience with other cheaper BBQs,” which makes a noticeable difference when you’re cooking in batches or moving food around the grill. From a technical perspective, that level of heat retention allows for better caramelisation and more consistent internal cooking, especially with thicker cuts of meat. It means you’re not constantly compensating for temperature dips, so everything from sausages to steaks cooks with far more precision and confidence.
The Weber Spirit E-310 is always praised for the control that it offers: each of the three burners operates independently, allowing you to create distinct heat zones across the grill. Celine described this as the “piece de resistance,” adding that it made it “such a pleasure to cook different cuts of meat simultaneously without overcooking and the risk of charring.” From a technical perspective, this is what turns a barbecue into a proper outdoor kitchen. You can sear steaks over high heat on one side, cook chicken more gently on another, and keep food warm on the raised rack without interrupting the flow. Celine tested this with everything from pork ribs to 30-day aged rib eye told us that “the results speak for themselves,” particularly when juggling different proteins at once.
The warming rack is another detail that proves its worth in practice. Celine noted that “the little warming tray ensured everything was ready to serve at the same time,” which is invaluable when you’re juggling multiple elements of a meal. Because it sits slightly removed from direct heat, it keeps food warm without continuing to cook it, so you avoid drying out meats or overdoing delicate items like halloumi. It’s a small feature, but one that adds a layer of control that seasoned hosts will really appreciate.
In terms of capacity, the grill strikes an ideal balance between everyday use and entertaining. Celine found that it comfortably catered for five people, but was quick to point out that “the size of the grill would easily cope with cooking for much larger groups of family and friends.” With generous cooking space and the ability to create multiple heat zones, it’s well suited to hosting, whether that’s a relaxed family lunch or a more ambitious garden gathering.
Overall, Celine found this was a beautiful and practical barbecue to live with. The sturdy wheels make it easy to move around and then tool hooks, a condiment tray, and optional accessories such as a drinks holder and light are little details that culminate in a really smooth cooking experience.
She loved that “the size of the grill would easily cope with cooking for much larger groups,” yet the overall footprint still feels manageable in a garden setting. Practical additions like the enclosed cabinet, which she notes can “accommodate our extra-large 11kg gas bottle… with ease,” which is something that her previous barbecue couldn't accommodate. You might not think about this when you're shopping for BBQs, but it's a helpful way keep everything looking streamlined.
Who would the Weber Spirit E-310 Barbecue suit?
the Weber Spirit E-310 is ideal for anyone who enjoys outdoor cooking and entertaining, and wants a stylish, durable, high-performance gas barbecue that’s ready to use at a moment’s notice. With three independently controlled burners, it offers precision that more experienced cooks will appreciate, whilst still being intuitive enough for beginners to get to grips with quickly. Celine summed it up perfectly: “if you are in the market for a gas BBQ I can't think who would not like it”, noting that it’s “large enough to feed a family and more, yet compact enough to fit in the smallest of garden area.”
It’s also a brilliant choice for anyone who values longevity and is looking to invest a little more in their barbecue than base value to get some nicer design details. It's a brilliant build quality with a solid frame, but there are also smaller touches, such as the neatly concealed gas bottle, which Celine loved for keeping everything looking streamlined and tidy. As she put it, “this is most undoubtedly a perfect blend of Weber quality, good looks and outstanding cooking facilities.”
Cleaning, too, is super simple. The grill grates are designed to release residue easily, and the option of disposable drip trays makes post-cooking maintenance far less of a chore. In Celine’s words, “worth it in my books every time” which, after a long afternoon of cooking and hosting, is exactly what you want.
Is the Weber Spirit E-310 Barbecue good value for money?
While priced in the mid-£500s, the Weber Spirit E-310 sits in investment territory, but it’s one that’s easy to justify when you consider Weber’s track record for longevity.
Celine has owned her previous Weber for over 15 years and still sees this as a meaningful upgrade, noting that “spending a bit extra now will reap rewards for many years to come.” The best way to approach a barbecue like the Weber Spirit E-310 is to see it as, rather than a seasonal purchase, an investment for your outdoor kitchen. As Celine put it, “you get what you pay for is so true,” especially when the build quality, cooking performance, and thoughtful design all contribute to a barbecue that’s built to last. Spread over years of use, it works out as excellent value per cook, not just per summer.
Should you buy the Weber Spirit E-310?
Overall, the Weber Spirit E-310 is a premium, well-designed barbecue that delivers on both performance and aesthetics. From its fast preheat time to the precision of its three independently controlled burners, it offers a level of control and consistency that makes outdoor cooking feel far more considered and far less hit-and-miss. The design details, from the concealed gas bottle to the thoughtful accessory system, elevate it beyond a standard grill into something that feels properly engineered for regular use. As Celine put it, “this is definitely worthy of the upgrade… a much more refined, and far superior cooking experience,” which neatly captures the step up in both usability and results.
More importantly, it’s a barbecue that invites you to cook more often. Whether you’re hosting a full table or just cooking for family, it takes the stress out of timing, temperature, and space, so you can actually enjoy the process. Celine described it as “a perfect blend of Weber quality, good looks and outstanding cooking facilities,” and that balance is exactly what makes it such a compelling choice. It’s reliable, versatile, and built with longevity in mind which, for me, is what turns a good barbecue into a great one.
